Karen C. Crooms, CPA, CGMA
Karen, partner in charge of financial institution services and auditing, co-founded the firm with Alesia Burch, and has more than 25 years of accounting, auditing, and banking experience. She graduated from the University of Georgia with a Bachelor degree in Business Administration in Accounting in 1985 and was licensed by the State of Georgia as a Certified Public Accountant in 1992.
Karen specializes in financial institution services (including external audit, internal audit and taxation) and audits of employee benefit plans and government entities. She works in all areas of accounting and tax services assisting clients in various industries. She has gained valuable experience over the past 20 years offering accounting and taxation services for family limited partnerships.
She is an active member of The Pointe Church in Toccoa, where she sings on the praise and worship team and in the sanctuary choir, serves as assistant choir director, serves on the deacon board and leads a ladies Bible study group. Other memberships include the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Georgia Society of Certified Public Accountants (Northeast Georgia Chapter) and the Hart County Chamber of Commerce.
A native of Hart County, Karen has been active in the community as a past member of the Pilot Club of Hartwell serving as President, Recording Secretary, Treasurer and Fund-Raising Co-Chairman. She has served as a director for the Hart County Chamber of Commerce. Karen is married to Danny Crooms and they have two sons.
